About Us

The Philippine Jury Campaign International is a registered non-profit, non- violent, non-sectarian democratic campaign organization. The objects for which the Campaign is established are :

To campaign thru media and lobbying activities in the United Kingdom and elsewhere, for civil and human rights and true democracy in the Philippines.

To campaign thru the people's initiative act the creation and installation of a Jury System in the Philippine Judiciary as an integral part of a democratic government.

The Campaign adheres to the following fundamental rights and freedoms. To wit:

1. Everyone is equal before the law.
2. Everyone has the right to liberty and security of person.
3. Everyone has the right to life and no one shall be condemned to death or executed.
4. Human dignity is inviolable. It must be respected and protected
5. No one shall be subjected to torture or to inhuman or degrading treatment or punishment.
6. No person shall be held to answer for a criminal offence without due process of law.
7. All persons shall have the right to a speedy disposition of their cases before all judicial, quasi-judicial, or administrative bodies.
8. No person shall be detained solely by reason of his political beliefs and aspirations.
9. The right of the people to form unions, associations, or societies for purposes not contrary to law shall not be abridged.
10. Sovereignty resides in the people and all government authority emanates from them.
11. Civilian authority is, at all times, supreme over the military.
12. The separation of Church and State is inviolable.

In furtherance, the Campaign conduct activities but not limited to:

1. Support and join organizations that upholds democratic values and principles.
2. Support any human and civil rights movement.
3. Join activities that promotes peace, justice and democracy.
4. Engage in any form of awareness program on the Trial by Jury as an integral part of democracy.
5. Conduct a signature petition for the adoption of Jury system in the Philippine Judiciary.
6. Engage in lobbying activities thru media and other pressure groups to reinforce the campaign.
7. Participate in activities that promote the rule of law and not of men.

The Philippine Jury Campaign also subscribes to the UN Universal Declaration of Human Rights and the EU Charter of Fundamental Rights and Freedoms.
